The frigate bird placed centrally in this Polynesian armband tattoo
represents Antoine as a traveller, a wanderer (with a stylized compass
behind it).
It´s surrounded by a sun to represent it´s flying towards success and
joy.
The flax leaves and enata below the frigate represent family and friends, always important even if far away.
It´s protected by the hammerhead shark, symbolizing tenacity and strength, the warrior fighting for a better life, while fish are for prosperity.
A frangipani flower on the left is close to a second frigate within a sun.
The stones at the base represent his achievements, the things Antoine learnt, which became the base he built his life upon.
Shark teeth along the upper edge are for adaptability, strength and protection, and the two tiki on the sides guard him from all dangers.
