Charles requested this turtle tattoo to honor the memory of his father.

In the center we placed a logo from his Airborne years, with his initials next to it, protecting the flax leaves below (family).
Around it there are birds (voyages), and spear heads (the warrior, tenacity and strength) along the bottom half of the shell.

On the front flippers there are braids (family union) facing opposing waves (adversities) while the back flippers have tiki hands for protection.
