The gecko symbolizes the spiritual world, supernatural powers; below it, the Maori motifs sketch the profile of a scorpion, which have among its meanings those of difficulties and rebirth, and it´s been drawn with korus, or unfolding fern buds, which share the same meaning of new birth.

An interpretation could therefore be: defeating difficulties to be born again even stronger.
