The manta ray represents freedom and protection, and its profile matches the one of a peregrine hawk, which enforces the meaning of freedom and recalls the home land of Giuseppe, who requested it.
The body and head of the hawk correspond to a turtle (family and traveller), while the tail is a flax plant symbolizing family union.
Below the wings we placed a cross and a column coming from the coat of arms of Calabria, while the black pine (shaped by spear heads representing the warrior, strength and courage) is placed at the base of the tail of the manta, continued by shark teeth (strength and adaptability).
The body of the turtle is made of two tiki hands while tiki eyes are placed in the wings; all of them are protection symbols.
