The sun is a symbol of eternity and positivity; a phoenix and a gecko were nixed with it to create this tattoo.

The phoenix (rebirth, eternity) makes the right half of the sun: the wings shape the two higher rays and the tail shapes the three following ones clockwise.
A gecko was placed on its side shaping the two left rays.

Three letters were inserted as maorigrams: a E inside the body of the phoenix, a S inside the gecko and A bigger T in the center of the sun.
