Mattia requested a turtle to symbolize family, enclosing elements and values that are important to him.
There are flax leaves at the base of the shell because family is the source of his strength (the spear heads symbolizing the warrior going up till they reach the sun, success).
The shell also encloses two maorigrams of the letters R and M, with motifs representing union.

Inside the left front flipper we stylized a treble clef to represent music and in the right one we placed two drum sticks together with a tiki eye for protection.

The back flippers are a tiki hand (protection) and a fish hook (prosperity).
