Manaia is the guardian angel, a creature that has bird´s head, man´s body and fish tail, who protects us and takes care of us on earth, water and sky. The motif round the head wants to symbolize that there is a superior force watching over our path, whom we rely on (the koru, new life, in the hand of the manaia) every time we follow our heart. The tail is a koi tail as a symbol of perseverance, and the other elements symbolize strength and adaptability (shark teeth), family (turtle shell) and freedom (seagulls).
