Do timeless tattoos exist?

Of course! Just think of Scythian tattoos, with their beauty still appealing after more than 2500 years:

But what is it that makes a design unique?
There are two main reasons: its beauty, which can come sometimes depend on a particular complexity and on the skill required to execute it, or its simplicity, which tries to visualize the concept instead of the mere shape.
Where complexity counts on the awe factor, simplicity works on a different kind of beauty: the beauty of essentiality, which strips away what is not necessary from a design and renders it with few lines that make the image clear while leaving it open to personal interpretations.

Eliminating most of the lines, eliminating personal interpretations and cultural beliefs, what is left is the essence of a subject, a few lines that already describe it along with its character: of the shark, it remains the flowing line of its tail, the butterfly has light and open lines, the scorpion keeps a look of danger...
